Colorado Springs City Council voted in favor of a resolution Tuesday supporting an intergovernmental approach to storm water issues.  KRCC’s Dana Cronin reports.

The resolution passed on a vote of 7-2 with Councilors Don Knight and Helen Collins opposed.

Kevin Walker is a consultant for the Pikes Peak Stormwater Task Force, an organization looking into solutions for regional stormwater issues.

“City Council representing Colorado Springs is an important player obviously in the region, an important player in the storm water infrastructure issue, and has been working for two years on this with our task force," says Walker.  "And so it was a satisfying result of two years worth of work."

Walker says the next step for the task force is to get the county commissioners, the city of Colorado Springs, and the remaining regional councils to officially adopt the intergovernmental agreement.
