Colorado Springs has a new sister city in Greece. KRCC’s Eliza Densmore reports.
The city of Ancient Olympia on the southwestern coast of Greece is officially the seventh sister city of Colorado Springs.
Olympia is the birthplace of the traditional Olympic Games over 2,700 years ago and is now home to the International Olympic Academy.

As home to the U.S. Olympic Committee, Colorado Springs officials are expecting to work with the Greek city through new student exchange programs, joint tourism campaigns, and Olympic-themed events.
Other sister cities include Bankstown, Australia, Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan, and Smolensk in Russia.
