Firefighters continue working the Hayden Pass Fire burning in Fremont County.  Personnel size has grown to 645.  The fire is 15,754 acres with no containment. A community meeting is scheduled today in Salida at Longfellow Elementary School at 6 PM.

Mandatory evacuations remain in place for the following locations:

  • County Road 35;
  • Eagle Peak subdivision, on the west side of County Road 1A;
  • County Road 6, south of County Road 45;
  • County Road 40; 
  • Fox Creek Drive (including the Fox Creek subdivision); 
  • Rainbow Lutheran Camp.

A pre-evacuation notice remains in place for those within a three-mile radius of County Road 6.

Fremont County Road 1A south from Highway 50 to Highway 69 is closed in both directions.  Highway 50 remains open, but anyone who stops on the route may face a fine.  County Road 39 is also closed.

Burn restrictions are in place throughout much of Colorado.
