- Some people who filed taxes in Colorado and who requested direct deposit for their refund will receive a paper check in the mail as the state addresses concerns about identity fraud. A spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Revenue told The Denver Post the move is a safeguard and receiving a check doesn't necessarily mean a taxpayer's identity has been compromised. Officials declined to say how many taxpayers might be affected.

- More than 10,000 athletes are expected in Colorado Springs in July for the Rocky Mountain State Games. The Colorado Springs Sports Corporation says registration is on pace to see a fourth consecutive year of 10,000-plus athletes. The games primarily take place over the last two weekends in July. Last year saw a record 10,500 athletes competing in more than 40 sports.
