The platform is called CrimeSuspect.Net and equips citizens with the ability to help law enforcement fight local crime.
Pueblo Media Systems Administrator Bobby Cuomo says real-time tips from the public can serve as an extra set of eyes to Pueblo’s police department.
"What’s great about it is that it works live," said Cuomo. "When somebody puts in a tip about a certain wanted person, it goes directly, not only directly to the PD but it goes directly to the detective that’s actually working that case. He could get an email or text message right on his phone, whenever that tip is submitted."
The Police Department expects the program to improve overall community safety and increase the likelihood that offenders are caught. Portions of the platform went live last Friday.
