Friday's post about this incident is here

There's a community meeting today at 2 PM in the Custer County High School East Gym to address the Hayden Pass Fire.  More than 440 personnel are working the fire, which now covers 14,788 acres.

Mandatory evacuations remain in place for the following locations: County Road 35 and the Eagle Peak subdivision, on the west side of County Road 1A; County Road 6, south of County Road 45; County Road 40 and Fox Creek Drive (including the Fox Creek subdivision); and the Rainbow Lutheran Camp.

A pre-evacuation notice remains in place for those within a three-mile radius of County Road 6.

Fremont County Road 1A south from Highway 50 to Highway 69 is closed in both directions.

Evacuees from CR 6, 40, and Fox Creek Drive will be allowed two hours tomorrow starting at 8 AM to reenter to check on properties. Those interested need to sign up today by 5 PM at the check point on your road, or have a neighbor sign them up by 5 PM.  An ID and proof of occupancy will be needed in the morning.

The lightening-caused fire continues to burn in the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness, and firefighters are not actively engaging the fire there. Crews are actively working the fire outside that wilderness area, with structure defense strategies.  Dozers and hand crews are continuing to build fire lines.

Burn restrictions are in place in much of Colorado.
