Flood mitigation construction along the eastbound route has all traffic shifted to westbound lanes. The Colorado Department of Transportation says it will stay that way for around two weeks until it’s completed. The traffic will then shift to the eastbound lanes so the work can continue on the other side.
Crews are installing a larger culvert underneath the highway. Drivers should expect lower speed limits and limited vehicle sizes throughout the work zone. CDOT anticipated crews to start last week but construction was rescheduled due to the holiday weekend.
The $1.4 million project is scheduled for completion by the end of April.
