  • The Colorado Springs City Council has passed a cottage food ordinance, allowing residents to sell their locally produced foods at stands from April to November of each year.  The ordinance passed 7-1, with Councilor Helen Collins opposed.  Residents are required to take a food safety course through the county and to get a permit from the City Clerk before legally selling their goods.  Those permits have a one-time cost of $60.
