  • Colorado health officials say air monitoring and a dozen existing studies on air pollution from oil and gas sites indicate the risk of harmful effects on humans appears to be low, but stressed that more study is needed. The state health department looked at more than 10,000 air measurements taken between 2008 and 2015 in two active oil and gas areas in Colorado.  Officials also reviewed 12 other studies conducted in the state as well as in Pennsylvania and Australia.
