- A test this summer allowing dogs on certain trails in Mueller State Park near Divide has ended with park officials deciding not to make the change permanent. Colorado Parks and Wildlife says the test resulted in numerous complaints and repeated rule violations. The department says they also issued seven tickets during the three-month trial period. Dogs are still allowed in the campground, picnic areas, and along paved roads on a leash.
- This year's Labor Day Lift Off at Memorial Park saw record attendance. Event co-organizer Colorado Springs Sports Corporation says 165,000 people turned out over the three-day hot air balloon festival, which included balloon glows, skydiving demonstrations, and paddle boarding.
