Poll: Legal Pot Hurts Colorado's Reputation

A new poll released by Quinnipiac University suggests Colorado voters believe marijuana legalization is hurting the state’s reputation.  But as KRCC’s Nat Stein reports, voters still continue to support the laws.

51% of polled voters in the state say legal pot is bad for Colorado’s image. Only 38% say the new laws are helping.

The Quinnipiac poll reflects a wide difference among age groups and party affiliation. Younger voters see legal pot as a net positive, while older voters hold an overwhelmingly negative view. Most Republicans and Independents say legal pot is bad for the state’s image, though most Democrats say it’s good.

The majority of poll respondents still support the measure and how it’s been implemented.
