Thursday's post about this incident is here.

The Hayden Pass Fire continues to burn in Fremont County.  Authorities say it's grown about 600 acres, to a total of just under 13,000 acres.  A community meeting is scheduled for tonight at 7 at the Cotopaxi school gym.

The Fremont County Sheriff's Office has issued a new mandatory evacuation for County Road 35 and the Eagle Peak subdivision, on the west side of County Road 1A.  A reverse 911 call has issued.

The Rainbow Lutheran Camp evacuated yesterday as a precautionary measure, and parents of campers can call the Custer County Dispatch for more information.

Mandatory evacuations remain in place for County Road 6, south of County Road 45, County Road 40, and Fox Creek Drive.  That includes the Fox Creek subdivision.

Authorities say they expect lower humidity today. They're also expecting increased fire activity earlier in the day due to those weather conditions and they expect pockets inside the perimeter of the fire that have not burned to do so.  They do not expect this fire to be over quickly.

Seven helicopters are on-scene: three Type 1, three Type 2, and one light helicopter.  There is a structure protection division of firefighters assessing defensible space.

The lightening-caused fire began Friday and crews searched for smoke through the weekend, but were unable to pinpoint its location in the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness.  It flared up on Sunday, prompting evacuations of the Hayden Creek Campground and Cutty's Resort.

A pre-evacuation notice is also in place for those within a three-mile radius of County Road 6.

Large animals can be taken to the Chaffee County Fair Grounds.  An evacuation shelter has opened at the Howard Fire Station.

The Custer County Sheriff's Office is holding a community meeting tomorrow (Thursday) at 2 PM at the east gym of the high school.  Staff and managers from the Forest Service, Incident Management Team, and the Sheriff will be on hand to address those in attendance.

Burn restrictions are in place in much of Colorado.
